LANTERN PARADE IS BACK FOR 2024!

Join Our Community Project and Port Kembla Public School on 4 July for our annual Lantern Parade.

Starting the parade at Coomaditchie Lagoon and making our way through to Port Kembla Public School where hot food and drinks will be available for purchase. Rug up and come down to commence the school holidays with a night of lights, fun and entertainment.

Practice sustainability at home by starting your paper lantern creations now and we hope to see them all on July 4! 😄

The following day, 3-5pm Sunday 26 May 2024, we will have a celebratory jam led by Johnnie Spillane at Our Community Project Cnr Wentworth & Church Streets, Port Kembla. As always, our events are FREE and open to all ages and abilities.

You are invited to our Jam n Bread 10-year celebration film screening 5-7pm on Saturday 25th May 2024 at the iconic Gala Cinemas Warrawong

We will be screening Jam n Bread short films that we've made about the Jam n Bread journey, have live music and get to see Umoja, which means unity in Swahili - a multi award winning film by Elizabeth Tadic, which tells the story of a women only village in Kenya.

Our next FREE Jam n Bread session is on 2-4pm Sunday, Aug 7 at Our Community Project, cnr Wentworth & Church St Port Kembla. Once again, there will be a pumping Celtic jam, with some rolicking Sea Shanties thrown in. Shalani Thomas has taken the challenge of searching through the ages to find some non-whaling feminist sea shanties. She'll be joined by the effervescent Felix Wishart and the amazing Celtic session crew featuring Russell Churcher & Johnny Spillane.

All ages and abilities are most welcome. Bring instruments if you have them. We'll be baking Irish Sour Dough too!

Culture Bank a decade of funding creativity!

Who wants to learn how to make delicious Greek inspired BBQ dishes with all the trimmings? My gorgeous dad Con and I will be setting up our traditional Greek-Cypriot BBQ and teaching you how to make delicious Pork Souvlaki and slow cooked lamb Souvla. We will also make some lovely vego inspired Souvlakia as well. YUM! I will also teach you how to make some yummy side salads and dips as well.

Penny from Vinopenny will be joining us to do some wine matching. Penny is a certified Sommelier and lover of good food and wine. She will share some delicious wines with us and teach us a bit about wine and food matching.

We will finish off the meal with some delicious homemade Baklava and Greek coffee.
